This website was created to offer continued ministry to the church family at Idlewild Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Our desire is to offer a way for members to receive continued ministry resources apart from our on campus ministries. In the process we have prayed that God would expand the reach of this resource to help people from all over our community, country, and world.

About the Author

Dr. Jason Hughes is the founder and teacher of overwhelminguniverse.org.  Dr. Hughes is first and foremost a servant of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.  His desire it to bring glory to God forever.

Dr. Hughes is a proud husband to his godly, wise, and beautiful wife, Amanda Hughes.  Together they are privileged parents of two beautiful and intelligent children, Isaiah and Madelyn.  Home is his first ministry priority.  After this, Dr. J is currently serving as the Sr. Pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church in the greater Charlotte area in NC.  Jason is also a Chaplain and Major in the United States Air Force Reserve where he serves as an IMA Chaplain to the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.  Dr. Hughes is a proud alumnus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Liberty University, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed the Bachelors of Religion in Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Theology.
